Fuel oil of the IFO-380 and IFO-180 brand, has to conform to requirements of the international ISO standard: 8217-96 . On the Russian classification to the above fuel oil correspond:
- Marine F-5 (IFO-30),
- furnace M40 (IFO-180),
- furnace M100 (IFO-380).

The Russian standard doesn't coincide with the ISO standard. In classification by ISO figure - we will throw. viscosity at 50C, for transfer to viscosity at 80C it is necessary to divide approximately on 4, i.e. IFO-380 corresponds fuel oil with viscosity to 95сСт, IFO-180 - to 45 (it is clear that a framework of GOST is wider), besides the ISO standard has narrower framework on sulfur (if only it not HSFO 380). And here our F-5, has more rigid framework on distempers. hardenings: - 5C, instead of 0C as in IFO30.

Petroleum fuel coke can be recommended for use in binding materials manufacture according to Technical Conditions (TU) 0258-086-00148636-98. It has the following properties:

·        Ash content (per dry weight) – up to 2%;

·        Operational humidity – up to 8%;

·        Volatiles yield – up to 8%;

·        Sulfur amount – up to 3%;

·        Calorific power – 35610 J/kg.

 

There is also petroleum coke for domestic use, which differs from petroleum fuel coke by more significant (up to 20%) volatiles content.

Specific features of use of petroleum coke as the main fuel in cement and lime manufacture are considered further.
